Ruly provides many pre-built data presentation styles for forms that make it easy to create the right look and feel for your applications.

No-Code Data Presentation is essential for efficient and productive business management. Ruly makes it easy to customize your business application to garner convenience and insight. Ruly offers several customizable options to visualize your data in Views and enter data in Forms.

Form Mode is a setting that Ruly offers on forms to refashion the user experience of entering data.

Ruly offers five Form Modes: Form (standard), Locked, Reading, Stepper, or Vertical Stepper.

1. View and Edit Records

Form and Reading Mode is used to view and edit records.

Form Mode is a standard form.

Reading mode is like a standard form, with a contrasting appearance.

The look of the form encourages the user to read the form, but it is still possible to edit. Users can click on a value and the field will go to edit mode so it can be changed.

2. Display Existing Information to Users

A form can be set to be read-only by changing it to Locked mode. This is useful to present information to users but prevent it from being edited.

Note that fields can also be individually marked as read-only by selecting the field properties icon when the form is in Edit mode.

3. Collect New Information from Users

Vertical and Horizontal Stepper modes are the most user-friendly option for more complex forms such as a questionnaire or any form with multiple steps. The interface of the form focuses the user on the section that they are working on. This simplifies the user experience and provides direction. Instructions can also be included in stepper modes to provide additional help to the user.

4. Change the Form Presentation Mode Dynamically Using Rules

Rules can be created to change the mode of a form depending on what the user is doing.

The rule below changes the Form mode from Vertical Stepper to Locked mode.

When the expense claim status is changed to Approved, the form is automatically locked from editing.
