Leveraging no-code technology enables businesses to optimize their time by automating alerts and subscriptions. In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, staying informed is crucial.

In this blog post, we explore the benefits of using Ruly for alerts and subscriptions and provide a step-by-step guide on how to set up and manage these features. This ensures that businesses can create relevant, useful, and customized alerts and subscriptions tailored to their specific needs.

Alerts

Alerts inform individuals of important events or changes that may require immediate attention or action. When using Ruly, alerts will appear in the top right corner of the platform.

Users can configure alerts to be sent via email as well.

To set up alerts on Ruly, use Rules and Operations. Rules establish the conditions that must be met to trigger an operation. Alerts are a type of operation on Ruly. When the conditions of a rule are met, the alert operation activates and notifies the users who correspond to the configured rule.

For example, a Transaction Rule is shown below that meets the conditions: “status = supervisor” and “status = changed“.

Then an Alert Operation was created that fires whenever these to conditions are met. When the status of the expense claim changes, the system will send an alert to the supervisor.

Subscriptions

Users can subscribe to records on Ruly to receive immediate notifications when changes are made to a record. These notifications appear in the top right corner, just like alerts.

To subscribe to a record, an admin must first enable this feature in the model form configuration. After it’s enabled, users will see a Bell Icon on a record form from the same model. To receive alerts about any changes to the record, interested users can click the button to subscribe.

For example, an employee working in the Finance Department or as a Supervisor for an Expense Application may want to subscribe to records relating to expense claims that they oversee.

Whenever the expense claim is changed they will be notified automatically either by Alert or by Email.
